Information about offshore companies?

Is there any way to search offshore companies, Bahamas in particular, by
an individual name? My very limited understanding is that this
information is not publicly available. Are there any investigation
services that have access to this information?

I checked law-lib archives and llrx and did not find anything. Can I
tell the attorney that a person search is just not possible?
