LIBRARY MANAGER - WESTERN SERVICE ZONE
Our client seeks an experienced library manager to head up its San
Francisco, Palo Alto and San Diego libraries (totaling approximately 130
attorneys). The position will be based in San Francisco and report to
the Regional Library Director for the North American Region.
Responsibilities
* Provide the resources, services and tools
needed to support the information and research requirements for San
Francisco, Palo Alto, and San Diego attorneys, support staff and clients
* Participate in region and firm-wide library
and library-related initiatives and activities, as well as in outside
professional organizations
* Supervise and train library staff
* Develop and implement library services,
policies and procedures
* Provide research assistance
* Supervise electronic and print collection
development
* Liaise with regional and office practice
groups
* Market library services within the service
zone
* Manage the library budget
* Other duties as required
Required education, knowledge, skills & abilities
* Knowledge of library reference, technical
services, practices and procedures
* Ability to supervise and train people, as
well as establish and maintain effective working relationships
* Excellent organizational and analytical
abilities
* Ability to work well under pressure of
deadlines and multiple assignments
* Superior project management ability,
demonstrating resourcefulness, creativity and flexibility
* Experience in international environments are
a plus, but not required
Education
Bachelor's Degree required; Masters Degree in information and library
studies or related field desired, or equivalent work experience.
