I've been having a day or two of fun fielding calls from a Burke (sp?)
Consulting which is calling from a 612 area code. The message I got on
my own extension (not the ones forwarded by irritated attorneys) offered
me a $50 honorarium for me or my favorite charity if I would call back
with a code number. I've gotten a few calls from irritated attorneys who
expect me to protect them from such surveying. Finally, one of my
attorneys called me somewhat amused by the message to offer me the
chance to earn the $100 honorarium that she was offered to answer the
survey. At least one person realized I was the right person for both the
opinion and the full amount!
It isn't the first time my opinions have been severely discounted, but I
was sure happy I could tell them to take everyone in my firm off their
survey list. It's a funny world some days in law-library land. If you
get a call, hold out for the full attorney amount :-)
