On September 21st, the Maryland State Law Library opens to the public its
Special Collections Room. The new Room incorporates in its collection rare
volumes of both legal and general history, including a 1762 edition of
Blackstone's Commentaries, seventeenth century English law reports,
Bacon's Law Tracts from 1741, pre-Revolutionary Maryland legislative
proceedings, and more. The star of the Special Collections Room, John
James Audubon's Birds of America elephant folio prints, have been restored
beautifully and will be exhibited on a rotating basis in a new display
case in the Library's foyer.
