Many thanks to Mimi Greenwood who referred me to the Environmental Law Reporter and also very special thanks to Kendall Svengalis who included the most helpful information below for the same title.

Subject: Re: BNA Environ. Rptr - Alternatives?
Elaine,
The Environmental Law Reporter from the Environmental Law Institute in Washington, DC is the best lower cost alternative. Here's my description from the Legal Information Buyer's Guide & Reference Manual 2006:
The Environmental Law Reporter. Washington, D.C.: Environmental Law Institute, 1971-date. 7 vols. Looseleaf.
Cost: $1,255.00 per year (full subscription is online with the exception of the monthly News & Analysis which is also in print); individual components also available: News and Analysis/UPDATE: $835.00; News and Analysis: $450.00; UPDATE: $520.00 (2006).
A comprehensive current awareness and analytical tool designed for the environmental law specialist. The service includes five volumes: Current Volume Year, Pending Litigation, Statutes, Regulations, and Indexes. The Current Volume Year contains a news and analysis section that provides an ongoing review of developments in environmental and natural resources law, summaries of recent cases, issues in pending cases, reports on Supreme Court cases accepted or rejected for review, and appeals and petitions filed. It also contains reports on current Congressional activity , including committee and conference committee action, and Federal Register notices. The Analysis section provides discussion of a variety of environmental issues written by practitioners, law professors, contributing authors, and the Reporter's editors. This volume also contains a bibliography of books, articles, comments, notes, symposia, and surveys appearing in a variety of legal publications. An annual cumulative bibliography is published in the Index volume. A litigation section reports on important environmental law cases on both the federal and state levels. The Pending Litigation volume tracks current developments in the field through new cases filed. Each entry provides a summary of the facts, describes the claims and arguments, and summarizes the pleadings. The ELI also provides copies of the pleadings to its subscribers at cost. The Statutes volume contains the current, full text of all relevant environmental laws, environmental treaties, conventions, and other international agreements. The Regulations volume contains the full text of selected environmental regulations and executive orders with citations to the Code of Federal Regulations. The Indexes volume contains cumulative indexes to all the volume in the service as well as the cumulative annual bibliography. The service is updated by means of "News and Analysis," a monthly analytical journal which provides both notice of current developments and in-depth articles; and the "Update," E-mail bulletins published online 36 times a year (3 times a month), which provide concise reports of recent court decisions, legislative developments and agency actions. This is a first-rate, and reasonably priced, current awareness and analytical tool for the environmental law specialist. Highly recommended.

Libbers - Does anyone know of an alternative (lower cost) to BNA's Environment Reporter?
I'll share with the list.
