I only have one Judge on Premise for a laptop that moves and does not have
web, and I was billed last month for 12 months of cds and the increase was
10% on one title and 50% on another title. Bad, but not 300%. And I did not
get a letter about 9/1.
I do not understand.... Did I just luck out because the sub was up in July?
Are my rates going to skyrocket next year? Or what?
Perhaps West can clear this Premise issue up. Because it is August and I am
already way over budget, I can't afford a single percent increase....

Subject: Premise
For those of you who subscribe to this West CD product, you should have
received a letter announcing a price increase. You may want to contact your
West rep. Spoke with mine yesterday and the price increase for us is 342%
effective 9/1/06! Ouch. Premise is clunky and out-of-date but my attorneys
have been using it for probably 10 years and now I either have to pay an
exorbitant cost or wean them off it quickly. I hope West might extend a
professional courtesy and not raise the cost until January 1, 2007 so that
we may budget accordingly or at least give subscribers some time to examine
alternative resources and allow us to transition our users to online
sources.
