Position Available - West Coast Library Manager (San Francisco)

Library Associates seeks referrals and candidates for the exciting and
challenging position of West Coast Library Manager in preeminent global
law firm. The Manager oversees the San Francisco, Palo Alto and San
Diego branch libraries. This is a large, multinational firm, and these
3 branches have among them nearly 130 attorneys on staff. The position
is based in San Francisco and will report to the North American Regional
Director. The Manager will provide the resources, services and tools
needed to support the information and research requirements of
attorneys, support staff and clients.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

* Participate in region and firm-wide library, and library-related
initiatives and activities, as well as in outside professional
organizations.
* Supervising and training library staff;
* Developing and implementing library services, policies and
procedures;
* Providing research assistance;
* Supervising electronic and print collection development;
* Liaising with regional and office practice groups;
* Marketing library services within the service zone;
* Managing the library budget;
* Participate in regional and firmwide library, and
library-related initiatives and activities, as well as in outside
professional organizations.
* Other duties as required.

 

 

Qualifications

 

* Master's degree in library and information studies or related
field, or equivalent work experience required;
* Must have significant law firm library experience;
* Experience in providing and overseeing high-quality research
services;
