Law Journal Newsletters

Good afternoon, I have a complaint with invoicing from Law Journal
Newsletters. They are shortening the subscription period by a month each
renewal. This is the third year I have been recording payment history at
this firm, and the invoices this year have an expiration date two months
earlier than the first ones I entered. Has this happened to you? If so, do
you know for how long? I don't have copies of invoices before I arrived, so
I can't tell how long this problem has been occurring.

I called them when I discovered this was the case with several of our
subscriptions, and the person on the phone was not as concerned about the
problem as I would like. The subscriptions I asked about were "reset" to
the first dated invoice I kept on file, but I've just received another
invoice on a different account number and it is also two months off the
first date I entered.

This is another instance where librarians need to be vigilant about
invoices, record keeping, and payment histories. We have enough to worry
about considering the increasing costs of subscriptions, without having to
track the accuracy of "annual" renewals.

Thanks, Laurie
