A number of cities and towns in Maine have adopted the building
code known as the International Residential Code. I am trying to
obtain the regulations in the Code relating to the requirements for a
stairway railing. In our case, the stairway consists of a single step,
but there is concern that the Code may apply anyway. The affected
building is located in Kennebunk. Any help much appreciated.
