Boycotting West's products can't be done overnight; everyone that wants
to do that will have to take some significant time to look over the
alternatives. But boycotting the party and the freebies, even though
it's not much in itself, and would be petty and pointless if you didn't
intend to follow up by cutting West products as much as possible as
quickly as possible, CAN be a useful first step in sending them the
message that their customers are seriously unhappy.
And don't think that boycotting the party and the freebies will cause
them no pain. That's their advertising; they definitely feel it if their
customers simply refuse to be advertised to.
Just think of all that money spent on food and gimcracks, and all that
food and gimcracks untouched at the end of the annual meeting.

I think for a boycott to be effective here, one would have to boycott
the product itself, not the freebies or the exhibits. Which of us can
boycott West's products?!?

Has anyone considered boycotting the West exhibit and the West party in
St. Louis in response to the problem?
