Thanks to Diane Rooke, Dawn Urquhart and Tottie Degaitos for their help on Canadian law.

We were able to confirm with their help that 1) the wiretapping information we needed is in the Criminal Code section (available on Westlaw); 2) provinces follow Federal criminal law, which is why we couldn't find an Ontario criminal code on Westlaw and 3) the Canadian Encyclopedic Digest (also on WL) is a good treatise for secondary information.

Subject: Canadian law on wiretapping/electronic surveillance

I'm trying to locate Canadian law on wiretapping in regard to getting consent. Love the country, but don't know much about the laws. Would this be federal or provincial? Can you point me to a source in a statute or treatise?

TIA.
