1977 Censorship challenges/removals

I'm a library student (already a J.D.) who recently did some research on Dalton Trumbo. I learned from 100 Banned Books that his novel Johnny Got His Gun was challenged or removed from public school libraries in Wisconsin, Texas, Michigan, California, and Colorado. Another round of challenges occurred in 1982 in Wisconsin, Vermont, and Illinois. My efforts to locate primary sources of documentation have been unsuccessful, so I decided to throw the question out to this list. I know from lurking for the past week that it's not the sort of request you usually deal with, and I apologize in advance if this is inappropriate.
