This is a bit of promotional work for Current Law Journal Content at
http://law.wlu.edu/library/CLJC which is now indexing around 1200
journals.
I ran a search in CLJC for "parody" and retrieved 7 records for
2005-2006 articles. By comparison, Index to Legal Periodicals has 8
articles, and LegalTrac has 3 articles. ILP has 3 articles not in CLJC,
and 2 articles that while in CLJC are not found with the "parody" search
(because CLJC is only searching titles and occasional abstracts).
LegalTrac had 2 articles common to both CLJC and ILP, and one unique
(N.J. Law Journal) article.
The essence is that a "parody" search retrieves 4 unique records in
CLJC, 5 unique records in ILP, and 1 unique record in LegalTrac. So, at
least compared with other indexes, there's some value to searching CLJC.
What you'll retrieve that's unique in CLJC will of course tend to be
non-core journal titles represented often by online journals and
non-U.S. journals. Naturally you'd retrieve many more articles with a
full-text search in HeinOnline, Lexis, or Westlaw, but then CLJC is
free.
