The lack of a period for "Ms" in the OED is just consistent with British
usage, which also doesn't use a period for "Mr" or "Mrs".

Take a break from the pressing legal questions burdening you,
and tell me if "Ms" is properly followed by a period or not? I have a
stickler-for-grammar attorney who insists that it is NOT. My
secretarial expert says it is, although she adds the note that the Post
Office does not like punctuation in addresses on envelopes and that may
only confuse the issue. Any definitive answers much appreciated.
