Laura & Colleagues:
To get general help for the listserver program at U.C.
Davis, send this one word message to listproc@ucdavis.edu -
help
The response you get will include a summary of commands for
both list subscribers and list managers, and it won't be
particularly easy to find what you're looking for, but the
basic options for the "set" command are in the "Lists"
section.
For a somewhat more useful response, you can change the
message text to:
help set
This will get you a comprehensive list of things you can set
with the "set" command. Remember that when you use the
"set" command, you must include which list (law-lib) you
want the command to apply to. For example, set law-lib
digest.
By the way, I think it has been about 15 years since I did
the first law-lib unofficial FAQ. I remember there was a
discussion on the list about the need for a law-lib FAQ, so
I put one together and posted it to the list. Back then
there was no WWW and no web server I could put it on, so I
just posted it to the list from time to time. Am I dating
myself here? ^_^
The next update to the FAQ will include a few more
suggestions about how to use law-lib for ILL requests, and
maybe a brief explanation of how to use Google to search the
list archives on the U.C. Davis law library website.
Peace out,
