A little over a year ago, RIA purchased both the Tax and Commercial Laws of
the World from Foreign Tax Law Publishers. After repeated phone calls over
the past 3 months, I've finally found someone at RIA who has verified that
there has been absolutely no updates to the Commercial laws set since
October 2004 (What in the world was I paying for?) and that the next update
("Europe") is scheduled for December followed by an "Asia/Pacific" update
sometime "toward the end of 1st quarter 2006." (Tax Laws, by comparison,
saw 4 updates during the past calendar year, covering 11 countries).
In addition, the online access, once available through Foreign Tax Laws, is
now available only through RIA Checkpoint, requiring individual user ids.
I'd love to hear from anyone who is aware of a comparable set/resource that
I might consider to replace this suddenly annoying product.
