Our client, a large global law firm, is seeking a Manager of Reference
Services to lead the firm's reference librarians and paraprofessionals
in their Washington, DC library

 

The successful candidate will possess and MLS and at least 4 years of
previous reference service in a major law library. 2 years of the
previous experience should be in a supervisory or management role. They
should also possess the ability to work closely with the Manager,
Technical Services. Ability to champion the value of the Firm's
reference services to practice groups and administrative departments;
specifically, Marketing and Business Development. Communication skills
will be critical, particularly the ability to present and market
reference services to meetings of senior partners and senior
administrators. Must have an excellent grasp of the current
technologies used to respond to the reference and research demands of a
growing and competitive law firm. Must be willing to devote the
additional time required to explore new reference tools and
ever-changing roles of the library in the modern law firm.
