FACULTY SERVICES LIBRARIAN
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Faculty Services Librarian, a professional position reporting to
the Associate Director, is responsible for providing reference services to
the Texas Wesleyan University Law School faculty.
Responsibilities:
Provide reference services using print, microform and online
resources for the law school community, especially faculty, but including
students, attorneys and public patrons
Actively participate in faculty services including legal and
non-legal reference
Participates in the library's faculty liaison program
Offers faculty training on research databases, including
I-Link, Legaltrac, Hein Online, Tex Share databases and proxy access
Promotes faculty services through one-on-one meetings, brown
bag sessions, and attendance at faculty lectures and programs
Help market our current awareness services, including
SmartCilp, Westclip and Lexis Eclipse and Legal Scholarship Network
Participate in the creation of a faculty interest sheet and
help update the sheets annually
Helps train student research assistants
Provides faculty with other public services including
electronic printouts, acquisitions list, and purchase request forms and
materials
Help faculty located resources in their areas of interest by
creation of bibliographies of our holdings or by identifying resources
outside of our collection
Provide document delivery of items not available in our
print collection
Lecture on research topics in substantive classes at faculty
members request
Update and maintain a collection of Law Faculty publications
Participates in marketing library services and materials
Participate in collection development by helping identify
resources that address needs identified by the faculty
Participate in creation and implementation of surveys of
library services
Share in the staffing of the reference desk, may include
evening hours and one weekend day
Responsible for participating in circulation services
including supervising student clerks when librarian is on duty at reference
May include participation in classroom teaching in first
year research and writing program
Performs special projects, which may encompass working with
any or all library departments
Engage in professional activities
Other duties as assigned
HOURS MAY INCLUDE ONE WEEKEND DAY AND SOME EVENINGS.

Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of law library experience preferred
Education:
Masters in Library or Information Science from an ALA
accredited school
J.D. from ABA accredited school
