A big thanks to all who responded to my request for help finding where
an 1862 act is currently codified in the CA code. Several people
provided the chapter number and then pointed me to the Deering's volume
on uncodified acts and statutes. I found that this act was repealed in
1951 when the CA Financial Code came into being. The relevant sections
of this "new" financial code were later repealed in the 1970's.
