Our law library handles reservations of study rooms through an
electronic calendar giving students the ability to submit room
reservations for group study. We do have policies in place. We have
established a limit on the number of hours one person can reserve a
room and a required 24 hour advanced notice of the reservation. We are
now encountering problems with each member of a group making a 2 hour
reservation thus occupying a study room most of the day. We also have
students making reservations “in case” they need the room but not
necessarily needing a room. We would like to hear from other libraries
that have a reservation system in place for study room use and what
policies work for them. We would also like to hear of any resolutions
that have worked.

Please post to the list or email me directly at Carol-Arnold@utulsa.edu.

Thanks,
