The American Association of Law Libraries Private Law Libraries Special
Interest Section (AALL PLL/SIS) Nominations Committee is seeking
candidates to run for officer and board member positions for 2005-2006.
It's that time of year when you promised yourself to make some changes
in your life and career. Set one of your 2005 goals to become active in
your professional organization. Now is the time to consider running for
a PLL office. We are looking for a few good people to allow their names
to be placed on the 2005 ballot for the PLL Officer and Board elections.
The positions to be filled this year are:
* Vice Chair/Chair-Elect (a total of 3 years: Vice
Chair/Chair/Past-Chair)
* Treasurer (2 year term)
* Board Member (2 year term)
How does one become a candidate? First, there is no reason why you can't
nominate yourself. You may not have made your interests known to
colleagues so you can't wait for them to submit your name. Or, second,
you can submit a name of a colleague to this committee. Send in your
name today, get on the list of names we'll consider, and sit back for a
few weeks (of course, the committee will be balancing geography,
experience, and other factors to make representative slate). And just
think, by sending us your name once, you can be considered for a PLL
Committee at the same time.
We'd like to hear from you by January 28, 2005
Thanks from all of us,
