This past December, I queried the list on carrel policies in academic law
libraries. Here is a rough summary of the responses. Of 35 academic law
libraries: 14 assign carrels to law students; 13 generally do not assign
carrels to law students with some exceptions for law journals, research
assistants, etc.; 8 do not assign carrels. If you would like to see a more
