I think the murder trial scene in Fried Green Tomatoes is pretty funny.
Reverend Scroggins swears on a copy of Moby Dick (saying that he brought
his own copy of the Bible) and then perjures himself to save Idgie and
George.
Meanwhile, the judge has his own reason for wanting to dismiss the case
since the murdered man was the one who impregnated the judge's daughter
and left her on the outskirts of town to raise the child on her own.
The cross examination of Idgie is pretty funny too!
