---------------------------
The American Association of Law Libraries was founded in 1906 to promote and
enhance the value of law libraries to the legal and public communities, to
foster the profession of law librarianship, and to provide leadership in the
field of legal information.
The Government Documents SIS (GD-SIS) was established in 1974 to disseminate
information on government documents to AALL members, to further the
continuing education of law librarians in documents librarianship, to
coordinate the activities of law librarians in representing their interests
to public and private groups, and to work in cooperation with documents
groups in other associations and organizations.
