How we learn - Visual or Audio?

Here is a strange one....
 
I am looking for a document - legal or non that shows how we learn -
with our eyes or our ears. The attorney is trying to show that you
don't retain as much when you just hear something as you would if you
have a visual experience.
 
Any ideas of where to start??
 
I sure appreciate anyone's help on this one.
