Within hours after posting a request for law librarian billing rates on
July 1, 2004, more than 60 librarians shared their billing rates with
me. My goal at the time was to determine whether our firm's rates are
competitive. I did not archive the responses because most librarians
requested that their information be kept confidential.
I appreciate tremendously the efforts of the librarians who responded
and I will keep that information confidential. Based upon the number of
telephone calls and emails I've received since then, asking me to post
results, there seems to be a lot of interest in law librarian billing
rates. So I'm offering to pose the question again and to post the
results on law-lib. If you feel comfortable providing billing rates,
please respond. I will not identify librarian names, firm names or
location.
Here our the hourly rates I'm looking for:
Librarian with MLS but no JD.
Librarian with MLS and JD.
Librarian without MLS or JD.
Librarian with JD but not MLS.
Library assistant.
