The Committee on Relations with Information Vendors (CRIV) is sponsoring a
"hot topic" program on Sunday, July 11, 1:30-2:45, at the Hynes Convention
Center, Rooms 304-306. The program replaces the CRIV Open Forum, which will
not be held this year.
Every aspect of law librarianship is affected by changes in the format and
delivery of legal information, from content to pricing to customer support.
Because law librarians identified numerous interrelated issues as hot
topics, the CRIV program will focus on trends in legal publishing. The
primary speaker is David Jastrow, a Senior Analyst at Simba Information and
the lead author for Simba's Publishing for Professional Markets. Mr.
Jastrow will provide an industry analysis of current trends in legal
publishing and legal markets. Bob Oakley and Kay Todd will serve as a
reactor panel, with commentary on how the trends influence decision-making
in law libraries.
The CRIV Hot Topic promises to be an exciting educational opportunity for
law librarians, publishers and vendors. Join us!
