Dawn,

Aspen publishes "Jury Selection" by V. Hale Starr and Mark McCormick.
Here's the description as it appears on page 336 of the 2004 edition of the
"Legal Information Buyer's Guide & Reference Manual."

Ken Svengalis

Selection: Sample Voir Dire Questions cost an additional $55.00 in 1997 to
standing order customers bringing the total supplementation cost to $110.00,
but the current issue comes at no additional charge to new customers.

This volume combines a summary of the substantive and procedural law
regarding jury selection with a complete analysis of the latest scientific
methodology regarding the actual selection process. V. Starr Hale, who
holds a doctorate in communications, is a leading expert in the field of
jury selection and a founding member of the American Society of Trial
Consultants. She has more than 15 years experience as a forensic consultant
to trial lawyers. Her co-author is a practicing attorney in the state of
Iowa and former member of the Iowa Supreme Court.

The authors' coverage includes a history of the law of juries, including the
history of the right to trial by jury, the role of statutes, rules and case
law in jury selection, and current issues and developments in jury law. The
heart of the volume, however, is dedicated to an exhaustive examination of
the process and factors involved in selecting jurors, including chapters on
pre-trial investigation, the issues study and community attitude assessment,
change of venue, trial simulation, demographic analysis of the jury panel,
voir dire mechanics and techniques, nonverbal communications (including
appearance, voice, and movement), and jury selection in the courtroom. The
Afterward includes a discussion of the evaluation and use of trial
consultants. The Appendices include a variety of sample documents to be
used in the jury selection process including juror questionnaires, community
attitude study and change-of-venue training manuals, sample affidavits,
basic outlines and voir dire questions for civil and criminal matters, and
basic voir dire questions for all types of cases.

Cost Saving Tips: Drop the standing order to the annual pocket part and
Sample Voir Dire Questions volume and save at least $110.00 per year. Buy
the cumulative pocket part at less frequent intervals as your needs
require.

Can anyone recommend any books dealing with juror selection and voir dire?
I specifically need something with sample questions for jurors and things of
that nature.

Thank you,
