BINDER Alternatives

We have been on a restricted budget for binding. Currently, we use
standard black 3-ring binders to house our newsletters and "drops". To
set these up for the shelves, we photocopy the title from the piece, cut
it down to spine size, and tape it to the back of the binder. Then we add
a contents label, which we make using word processing. Finally the spine
label and book pocket/card with labels are added to the binder.

Spine labels and book pocket/card/labels are always with us, but we'd
like to get away from or change the rest of this, as it's labor
intensive, and the outcome is OK but not great.

What suggestions do you have for handling this, especially if you can't
buy publisher-supplied binders?

Thanks for your help! (I'll be happy to summarize to the list, if there
is any interest.)
