Barcoding and barcoding equipment

HI- I haven't seen this question come across the list lately and I have
checked the 2004 archives without luck, so here goes.....

We recently donated a lot of books to a prison library and the person in
charge of the prison library asked me if I knew of any barcoding systems
that are relatively inexpensive and easy to use. Can anyone recommend a
system?

Also, does anyone have any old barcoding equipment they are looking to
get rid of?
