I am trying to help a lady research this question and I have never tried to
research British law and am wondering if someone could either answer this
question, or point me to a site, person, or listserv that could answer it.

Question: According to British law @1884-1890, if a man died at sea, how
long must his widow legally wait before she could remarry?
