Los Angeles County Law Library has an opening for a Cataloger (Librarian I).
Duties: original and derivative cataloging of English and foreign language
materials to national and local standards,including description, classification,
subject analysis and authority work. Revision of Library Assistant's work.
Other duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications: ALA accredited MLS;
knowledge of AACR2, LCSH and MARC; working knowledge of a modern
European language. Desirable qualifications: knowledge of RLIN, law library
operations and legal sources, cataloging procedures for legal materials, the
Endeavor Voyager integrated library system and HTML. Salary: $3651-$4763
per month; excellent benefits, including free parking. Available: May 1, 2004.
