The University of Iowa Law Library is seeking applicants for the position of Collection Development Librarian.  Responsibilities include defining the scope, content, and format of the library’s collections and overseeing their implementation.  Allocate funds and manage budget expenditures.  Coordinate the activities of librarians involved in the selection process and select the Anglo-American legal materials.  Work closely with faculty to monitor research and curricular developments.  Provide reference services to students and faculty.  Participate as an instructor in the legal research instruction program for law students.

Qualified candidates must have a JD from an ABA accredited law school.  MLS from an ALA accredited library school is preferred and strongly recommended.  Substantial experience managing a large law library print and electronic collection budget including three years of supervisory experience.  Demonstrated knowledge of current developments in legal publishing, education, and research.
