I placed an order with a small law book publisher (this time it was Decision
Books) about 3 days ago and the complete shipment arrived today with no
fuss, no price shock, no mistakes, no lengthy invoice with small print on
front and back. In addition, not only were there excellent communications
with customer service staff when I had questions, but I got a healthy
library discount on the titles I ordered. The transaction began and ended
neatly and I don't need to add another file to my fast growing Publisher
Questions and Problems pile, which not surprisingly is made up almost
entirely of "merged" publishers.
Could someone remind me again why mergers in the publishing world are good
things?
