Hello Colleagues,

About what to do with old Martindale-Hubbell Directories; thanks to
all who responded. And I found out we were not the only ones with that
question. To summarize:

-Some folks were surprised (and it seemed even a bit amused) that we
still had all these books. The space, the space.

- Some wanted their state volumes for particular years. And I will try
to send those for cost of postage.

- Jeff Cohan in Newark, said he found them useful when trying to
reconstruct the history of state court judges or gov't attorneys who
have not been in private practice for many years and do not have news
coverage detailing their background or to gain insight into private
practice attorneys who may have changed their practice description over
the years or to find firm client listings to trace histories of
relationships.

-Others thought they were useful as backdrop for TV, movies, attorney
ads , attorney offices.

- Others thought local library, paraglegal, etc. schools might want
them.

- No responses from vendors. Not surprising.

Seems a shame to fill the landfills. Thanks again to all who
responded.

Anita
