They have a right to have whatever employment policies they want, that don't
actually violate the law.

They do not, however, have a right to be free of all criticism from those
who disagree. In choosing to send their announcement to this list, they did
open themselves up to the possibility of disagreement and criticism on this
list.

Disagree as you may, it is a private institution and until the Supreme Court
says so, they can prefer to hire those who abide by the mission of their
institution. My suggestion is ....don't apply for the job.
