This message has been cross-posted to several lists. My apologies for
any duplication.

The Legislature has established a nine-memberTask Force to study the
conditions of California's county law libraries. Composed of 3
representatives each from the Judicial Council, the CA State Association
of Counties, and the Council of CA County Law Librarians, the task force
will submit to the Judicial Council and the Legislature recommendations
on various funding and facilities issues of our state's county law
library system by January 1, 2005

.

The chair of the Task Force has asked that any "best practices" in
place--especially those from the public law library community-- be
submitted to them for discussion as they proceed with their
deliberations.

Your best practices could be very helpful information for the Task
Force's review and consideration. Please send your comments by Apr. 23
directly to task force staff member

County Library Services to Ontario Lawyers;" and
AALL's "Beyond the Boundaries: Report of the Special Committee on the
Future of Law Libraries in the Digital Age."

Feel free to contact me privately should you have any questions. Thank
you very much for your help.
