A big thank you to Phyllis Cronin who told me who to contact at the ABA for the answer to this question. Evidently, it was incorrectly reported in a non-ABA publication that these sample letters were modified. The ABA has NOT modified the letters that appear in the Auditor's Letter Handbook. Thanks for all the suggestions I received in response to my query.
