Please post responses on this subject to the list! These questions about
micrographic equipment comes up repeatedly, and have done so for years. The
answers will always be useful to quite a few of us out here, no matter what
kind of law library we're in. Elisabeth McKechnie posted a related question
a few days ago. For the nth time in 15 years I too am looking to replace
micrographic equipment and will happily post anything I learn.

But if you have any of these newfangled micro-scanners (actually, they've
been around a while :-), please let us know what you think of the equipment.
Equipment servicing is equally important, but much more of a regional, if
not mostly local, issue. (Of course here in the Portland metro area, even
an Idaho company can count as "local" for the some purposes.)

The micrographics user group listserve used to be helpful, but I seem to
have lost their trail (formerly at
http://www.swem.wm.edu/Staff/Manzo/micro.htm
<http://www.swem.wm.edu/Staff/Manzo/micro.htm> ). The archivists frequently
post information about micrographic equipment on their listserve (and they
have a terrific archives at:
http://listserv.muohio.edu/archives/archives.html
<http://listserv.muohio.edu/archives/archives.html> , and I always check
there too.
Thanks so much!
Laura

I would love to hear from anyone who has had any experience (positive or
negative) with either the Minolta MS6000 digitizing microfiche/film
reader/printer/scanner or the Canon MS400 digitizing microfiche/film
reader/printer/scanner. We are considering upgrading some of our current
equipment with one of these two products.
