Many thanks to everyone who responded. This was the last in a series of
35 rare videos, comic books, out-of-print books, and movies I was
looking for.

I received many interesting suggestions and I thought I would repost a
list for the benefit of the group. Most interesting was the large number
of librarians who recommended eBay. I was aware that there was a set of
dubious provenance available, I was just trying to find the tape from a
more legitimate source.

Places to check when you are looking for rare videos, unreleased
television programs, transcripts, and screenplays:

* Museum of Television and Radio- Beverly Hills and New York
* Margaret Herrick Library at the Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
* USC Film Library
* UCLA Arts Library
* Original Studio's Library
* Original Distributor's Library
* Original Director's Library
* Fan groups often distribute material through their online group.
Material is often available for the cost of postage and a blank VHS
tape. Fan groups often have detailed synopsis which can help confirm
content. (Very slow)
* eBay for new, used, and grey market material
* Resellers such as Amazon.com, half.com, facets.org, alibris.com
for new and used published material (note varying media formats,
language, subtitles, and original market)
* Consider looking for material in another format such as a
screenplay rather than a videotape.
* Consider looking for material under different titles (film
release vs. television vs. video), in different languages, or by
director or actor name. This was helpful in allowing us to exclude some
material.
* Look for small, independent specialty resellers. These sites
don't turn up in general internet searches but can often be located
through fan pages.
* Good ol' local public library
