American Metal Market is an electronic publication that our users
receive by email each day. (It's also available, for the same large
fee, through AMM's website.)
Approximately six months ago, AMM instituted a security key, an Adobe
Reader plug-in that must be installed on users' desktops in order to
read the emailed file. We have consistently had problems with the keys
- installation was difficult; our users changed computers and the key
did not move with them, etc. Today, our access is being blocked because
we've upgraded to Adobe 6.0, and the key did not move with the upgrade.
Have other AMM subscribers found better ways to work with the security
key? Failing that, have other librarians found alternatives to the
extraordinarily difficult and expensive subscription?
Thanks for any guidance you can give me -
Mindy
