Late last week I got this email from a very helpful West customer service
rep in response to my question about exactly what of Jones we should have on
the shelf (and for some reason I had a 2002 pocket part to 6th edition,
volume 2):

"You are correct that you no longer need Volume 2 from the 6th edition.
Please discard the Volume 2, October 2002 pocket part. Volume 2 from the
6th edition is replaced by the new Volume 5, 7th edition. As I stated
before, there is a typo on the filing instructions which state to discard
Volume 3, rather than Volume 2.

Below are the dates for each volume and the pocket part needed:

Jones on Evidence, 6th Edition
Volumes 3 & 4, published in 1990. You should have the 2003 Pocket Parts.

Jones on Evidence, 7th Edition
Volume 1, published in 1992
Volume 2, published in 1994
Volume 3, published in 1998
Volume 4, published in 2000
Volume 5, published in 2003
You should have the 2002 Pocket Parts for Volumes 1-4. The 2003 Pocket
Parts are scheduled for release in December."
