Reference Librarian - Ross-Blakley Law Library, Arizona State University

Purpose and Scope - The Reference Librarian reports directly to the Head of Reference Services and serves as a member of the Reference Services team. This is a full-time, continuation track position.

Essential Functions - Participates in faculty services, which includes serving as faculty liaison to assigned faculty members. Provides reference services to other Library user groups: students, University community, legal community, and the general public. Contributes to formal and informal instruction in legal bibliography and research as assigned. Prepares bibliographies, research guides, brochures and other publications. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications - M.L.S. from an A.L.A.-accredited institution. Will accept applications from candidates being granted M.L.S by time of appointment.
   
Desired Qualifications - Three years reference experience in a law library or a J.D. from an A.B.A.-accredited law school. Demonstrated legal research skills. Demonstrated effective communication skills. Demonstrated customer services experience.

General Information - 40 hours a week, which may include one weekend day. Salary $38,000 minimum, depending on qualifications and experience. The John J. Ross-William C. Blakley Law Library has a collection of over 350,000 volumes and a staff of 8 professional librarians and 13 classified staff.
