Many thanks to Karen Anderson at Quarles & Brady/Streich Lang in Phoenix
for answering this! Rule 8(d) of the Arizona Supreme Court appears to
address this:

 (d) Transmitting Decision by a Visiting Judge; Duties of Clerk. When a
judge of the superior court has heard a matter in a civil action or
proceeding in a county other than that of that judge's residence, and
has taken the action or proceeding under advisement, that judge may
thereafter make an order in writing, or reduce the decision upon the
trial of the action or proceedings to writing, and sign the order or
decision.

Was it criminal or civil? I did a quick search in the Arizona
Rules of Court, and found 10 rules containing the phrase "under
advisement." I can download them and send them to you. Do you want all
10? Or only criminal? Only civil?

I need Arizona help! I gave an attorney a state
decision from the Arizona Superior Court (Maricopa County), which was
headed "Under Advisement Ruling." What does this mean? I can't find
the phrase anywhere, and the AZ Clerk of Court hasn't returned my email.
Thanks!
