I am currently working on my MLIS and am taking a collection development
course. My firm does not have a collection development policy, and part
of my assignment for the course is to prepare one. I have no prior
experience as a librarian (my background is nearly 18 years of
practicing law). I would be most appreciative if anyone would share
their firm's collection development policy. Redacted versions are fine;
I'm just trying to get an idea of style, format and issues to consider.
Also, if anyone can recommend any books or articles on private law
library collection development and what basic materials should be
included in every law library. [I realize that each library will be
focussing on their own practice needs, but I'm interested to know what
sources private law librarians use to review and select titles.]
Thank you for any and all advice.
