New Job Opening: Reference Librarian
The Florida Coastal School of Law Library is accepting applications for the
new position of Reference Librarian. The Florida Coastal School of Law is
fully accredited by the ABA. We are a stand-alone institution known for
collegiality and strong teaching. This is a wonderful opportunity to become

Compensation:
Salary is dependent on qualifications in a range up to $41,200. Full
benefits package. Jacksonville is the major metropolitan area of Northeast
Florida. We have beautiful ocean beaches and a low cost of living.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Staff the reference area, including some evenings and weekends.
● Actively promote and deliver services to faculty. This includes working
on research requests, developing classroom research modules, creating
instructional materials, monitoring faculty research interests, and
delivering new sources to faculty.
● Develop and present workshops for faculty and students on Internet,
electronic and print resources.
● Actively assist students and alumni to evaluate and use Internet,
electronic, print, microform and other resources.
● Develop innovative instructional materials (such as pathfinders, guides
and web resources) to facilitate legal research.
● Participate in collection development and the faculty liaison program.
Maintain close relationships with faculty.
● Monitor developments in information technology that can be used to
improve library reference and teaching services.
● Report to the Head of Public Services. Work with the other librarians on
solving problems and developing programs. Assist other members of the
library team whenever they need help.
● May have the opportunity to undertake broader Access Services duties in
time.
Qualifications:
● MLS is required; JD or significant law library reference experience is
preferred.
● Strong service orientation and the ability to work well with others in a
team environment. Work history should demonstrate enthusiasm, flexibility,
and a positive attitude.
● Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent follow-up
skills.
● Detailed knowledge of print, electronic and Internet legal research
tools.
● Experience in the training and instruction of groups is preferred.
