Don't know if that will help, but it's a thought.

you could check the Management Proxy Circular/Annual meeting circular for
the company in question; they have to disclose holdings of this type each
year in advance of meeting. You can find the documents filed electronically
on SEDAR www.sedar.com

The product you need to access is Statistics Canada's Intercorporate
Ownership. http://www.statcan.ca/english/ads/61-517-XPB/index.htm
Our's is a little old so I wouldn't recommend it. Maybe try contacting
their library in Ottawa:

Shareworld, a Thomson product, sometimes has non-US company's institutional holders. If you don't already have their number, it's 1-888-989-8373 and press 5 then 1.
Also, there is Micromedia Ltd., a Canadian firm that is similar to Thomson Research. Their number is 1-800-387-2687 or 416-362-5211, x2211 Document Ordering. They would at least know if this exists.

As my colleague Oliver says, you need that Stats Canada database. But don't
call Stats Canada -- they charge.
That database is available to DFAIT via a product called Infomart. You have
two options -- try the Canadian consulate in Chicago or tell me the
company's name and I will dig up the information you need.
