Please pardon any duplication.
Many of you may already know about the UNT Cybercemetery site, but I've
been encouraged to post this as extra PR for the site. Cybercemetery
collects Web sites and publications of deceased U.S. government agencies
and commissions. Below is some additional information from the web.
Here is the Cybercemetery site: http://govinfo.library.unt.edu/
How was Cybercemetery formed?
Cybercemetery is the product of a partnership between the University of
North Texas Libraries and the U.S. Government Printing Office.
Cybercemetery/UNT is a "content partner" in the Federal Depository
Library Program Content Partnerships Program. This program attempts to
ensure permanent public access to electronic federal information. The
first content partnerships (FDLP Content were established between the
University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) and the Department of State, and
the University of North Texas (UNT) and GPO. UIC provides permanent
access for files removed from the active main web pages of the State
Department, while UNT houses the research collection of the Advisory
Commission on Intergovernmental Relations.
Will this collection be expanded in the future?
Plans for the department include completion of project to digitize the
UNT Libraries' extensive collection of World War II posters, and make it
available on the Web. Additionally, Government Documents also continues
to add to the "Cyber Cemetery" - an electronic collection of the
documents of defunct government agencies. The plans are to add
approximately ten agencies that have been absorbed by the Homeland
Security department.
LLRX even has a blurb on this site: http://www.llrx.com/links/110402.htm
