Old English Case currency question]

Hi Mike
I"m replying to the list because this may interest others. I had the
same experience with a professor who had downloaded a case from Lexis
and the "oe" symbol appeared. After looking into several dictionaries
(unabriged OED) and not finding it we went to the bound volume of the
old English case - and it turned out that the symbol there was the
regular pound sterling sign (an L with a little line through it).
Apparently when digitalized it turned into "oe". So check the bound
volume to be sure.
