As prescribed by Japanese Securities and Exchange Law, shareholders with more than 5% stake in public companies are suppose file statements with local finance bureaus and the securuties exchange houses. I don't know if there is a database in which you can do a search to get this information. Good luck!

Please excuse the duplication of this question to two lists.
We are trying to determine the institutional holders (esp. public companies) for a Japanese public company that does not trade in the U.S. and therefore makes no filings here. We are trying to determine if any of those companies own 10% or more of the Japanese company's stock.
Disclosure does not have this information for companies that don't trade in the U.S.
We would be most grateful if anyone has any suggestions about where we can find this information or about a service that may provide the information for a fee.
